Get to know Marlene, aka the fabulous lady behind @ilikecomicstoo on Twitter and ilikecomicstoo.com!
Miss Marlene happens to be a great friend of mine who I met at this year’s NYCC! You might have seen her at San Diego Comic Con in 2013 as a panelist, or on MTV’s ‘My Life as Liz’, where she interviewed the always fabulous Stan Lee. She was also a correspondent for Wizard World TV! Most importantly, Marlene is a great person who I can’t wait to work with in the future! So, without further ado, here is Marlene to tell you more about herself!
Name/Cosplay Name: Marlene (“I Like Comics Too”)
Website/Cosplay Page: http://www.ilikecomicstoo.com
How did you first get into cosplay?: I was part of the anime club in high school, and for our very last meeting before graduation we decided to dress up in cosplay and parade around the halls. There were girls dressed as Yugi and Joey from YuGiOh, Ash from Pokemon, Hiei from YuYu Hakusho, a Sailor Scout… and a friend and I dressed as Inuyasha and Sesshomaru, respectively. That was the beginning of a grand adventure in cosplay.
What do you love most about cosplay?: The wonderful community. So many talented, welcoming folks!
How long have you been cosplaying?: Since 2007.
Favorite cosplay memory?: Meeting the original artist/creator of Blue Beetle III (Jaime Reyes), Cully Hamner, at NYCC while in costume. He seemed so happy!
Any other information you’d like to share?: I just became a contributor at Newsarama and comics.tumblr, which is pretty exciting! Feel free to follow my work there, at my personal site (ilikecomicstoo.com). My videos are all up at youtube.com/ilikecomicstoo!
